System Approach in Modern Science to centenary of Ludwig fon Bertalanfy

The year of 2001- the year of centenary of Ludwig fon Bertalanfy. Influence of Bertalanfy's ideas on various fields of knowledge can be hardly overestimated today.

Ideas and methods of system analysis became of a greatest importance in the structure analysis and knowledge development. Works by Ludwig fon Bertalanfy on general theory of systems preserve their heuristic character in methodology of modern interdisciplinary research. Today ideas of system analysis became self-valuable, and this was reflected in elaboration of structure categories, hierarchy (levels), and a number of others. The ideas of system analysis received their further development in the making of a doctrine on complex self-operating systems. Now these ideas are being actively worked out in the frame of the theory of self-organization, synergy and non-linear phenomena.

The following problems were discussed on the conference:

The conference was working during three days: the first two days - plenary reports and addresses, the third day there took place a meeting of two "round tables" on the subjects "General theory of systems and modern theory of knowledge " and "On the way to theoretical biology ".

The plenary reports and addresses were devoted to the history of the general theory of systems development, its roots and application to various fields of science (Sociology, Biology, Medicine, Physics and others). Some of the participants offered to consider synergy as a modern stage of the system approach development. More prudent reporters pointed out, that a systemity, along with physicalism and historism, is just one of possible approaches to the world cognition, and its synthesis of the given approaches, that is an urgent problem. Most participants of the Conference shared the opinion, that the future development of the general theory of systems is connected with the analysis of self-organized systems.
